Which signs do Aries people marry most often? Which are they most likely to divorce? A study of nearly 1 million people generated some statistically significant findings.
Traditional astrological wisdom holds that Aries people are most compatible with Aries, Gemini, Leo, Sagittarius and Aquarius, and least compatible with Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio and Capricorn. But what do the actual marriage and divorce statistics say?
Mathematician Gunter Sachs conducted a large-scale study of sun signs and found statistically significant results on a number of measures. Marriage and divorce findings are outlined below.
Aries Men
Aries men are most likely to marry Aries women, and least likely to marry Scorpios. As for divorce, they most frequently part from Leos, but tend to stay married to Aries women.
Aries men may be less likely to marry Scorpio women due to the clash of two headstrong personalities that both need to be in control. Additionally, Scorpio jealousy and Aries flirtatiousness do not mix well.
The high divorce statistic between Aries men and Leo women may result from a clash between two headstrong personalities. Aries' natural assertiveness may be even higher in Aries men than Aries women, and this forcefulness can generate conflict with equally assertive Leo women.
Aries Women
Aries women most frequently choose Aries, Leo and Sagittarius men for their marriage partners, while Cancer is the sign they are least likely to marry. When it comes to divorce, Aries women most often part from Virgos and Libras, and least often from Aries, Leo, Sagittarius and Aquarius men.
Aries tends to like excitement, fast cars and city life, while Cancers usually prefer nature-based and home-based pursuits, so it's unsurprising that Cancers are often not the first choice for Aries women. Additionally, Aries bluntness and Cancer sensitivity can be a recipe for disaster.
In addition to the fire signs, Aquarius men are more likely to last with Aries women. As well as sharing the compatible traits of extroversion and love of novelty, an Aquarius is likely to hold the interest of an Aries by offering intellectual stimulation. Another benefit is that the Aquarian has a high tolerance for the insensitivity with which the Aries can send other signs packing. Emotionally detached Aquarians are more inclined to analyze a rude comment intellectually or shrug it off than go sulk in a corner.
Virgos and Libras are not the best matches for an Aries woman. Virgos are inclined to be cautious and overly practical, traits for which Aries has little patience. And while an Aries can enjoy a good competitive argument, Libra shies away from all forms of conflict, a trait that will aggravate the Aries despite a tendency toward physical attraction between these two signs.
Study Findings and Traditional Astrological Predictions
Aries women, in keeping with traditional astrological belief, choose and stay with men from the fire signs (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius) most often. These men are more likely to be aggressive, risk-taking and extroverted, much like the majority of Aries women.
Overall, these statistics suggest that conventional astrological wisdom holds for Aries in love and romance, with one exception. Leo women and Aries men may be more inclined to clash in the long run, perhaps because they are both strong-willed and each wants to be the center of attention.
The Best Match for Aries
The best long-term love match for Aries people of either gender is another Aries, while the worst prospects are Cancer, Virgo, Libra and Scorpio. For Aries women, Leo, Sagittarius and Aquarius are also good matches.
Incompatible Matches
Aries people who find themselves romantically entangled with one of the less compatible signs should not despair. Plenty of marriages between supposedly incompatible signs have lasted.
Astrology is complex, and there is more to take into account than just sun signs. Two people with incompatible sun signs may have highly compatible rising signs or moon signs that can make the difference between a bad match and a good match with a bit of an “edge” that keeps things interesting.

Speaking as an aries woman once married to a virgo man...it's true, not the
best match. Leo, Sag men...they want you to take care of them. Aquarius,
kinky and probably the best match for an aries woman. Keeps you thinking

He will fight for me and wants to take care of me. he is not clingy and he
has a great sense of humor and wells great physical attributes. He is

I find this uncanny. The descriptions really decribed me to the T. As for
men, I ended up marrying a Scorpio. We clash at times, but we've learned
to co-exist and have been married for 15yrs. Virgos...it is so true; they
are paranoid and too cautious - very aggravating trying to get through to
this sign. Leo's are fun - if another Aries is not available this would be
the best sign to replace it; they are very competitive and have lots of
energy.

took great care of me and knew what I wanted before I did. only thing was
he'd take it hard when I wanted to pick a fight. now seeing a scorpio
and it's an adjustment. feel lost as to how to handle scorpio.

I don't find Aquarius men a good match for Aries at all! I've known a few
Aquariuans and every one of them were very unemotional. They don't like an
emotional woman either which is what an Aries woman is...i found myself
getting very frustrated sexually as well because most of them don't have a
very high sexual drive. Leo's are definately the best match for a Aries
girl!

I beg to differ, my Aries/Scorpio relationship has been nothing short of a
miracle. We are so ridiculously compatible in every way that is
important...mutual love, respect and friendship. Has anyone ever wondered
that perhaps it's not the horoscopes we should be seeking answers from
instead look inwards to find the answers as to the whys. Horoscopes are
meant to be used lightly, don't judge your partner or lack of by something
meant more for entertainment value than for life guidance. Only you can
decide who is best for you and only when you project happiness will you
find the person who will ENHANCE IT...not be the sole source of it.

Aries woman engaged to a Scorpio man, we have been unstoppable since 2005.
We've been more in love than most people, and the flame never dies down.
Sure we have our problems, but I certainly do not agree that scorpio is a
bad match for an aries, if anything an aries likes to fight for what she/he
loves-therefore, the challenge being with a water sign is nothing but a
fantasy. The differences attract us even more to eachother rather than set

i'm in love with a virgo. they're not a horrible match for an aries. not if
you're an aries who really enjoys a challenge. and lets face it, passion
increases when theres a challenge. when i'm in love, i want my partner to
bring out my best and worse. to make me believe in myself and yet challenge
me to become a better person. and i want to do the same for them. love isnt
supposed to be easy, its a choice. and when you work hard for it, its
rewarding. thats not to say you try and force something, but if the love is

to make changes. not morally, but just in habits, in certain ways you do
something. and instead of criticizing a person for not being how you think
they ought to be, appreciate their strengths, and instead of looking at
differences as a bad thing to be avoided, embrace them. we dont need people
exactly like us. i am more on the dive in before testing the water side,
while virgo is more cautious, but thats a good thing. why wouldnt i want
that. he adds stability and reality to my off the wall and dreamy ideas.
though we're both headed the same direction in life, and thats why it
works. thats why any relationship will work. you have to be travelling down

Some times it gets pretty ugly but then we just cant live without each
other. but still marriage doesnt seen like happening because we both cant
reach to the decision. some times i think may its time..we move on. but we

Aries woman married to cancer man - if I had to describe our marriage in 1
word - calm. Cancer being a water sign I definately feel my
"fire" is watered down from time to time. As far as the other
signs go however, I dated an Aries for 3 years - he was literally my BEST
friend but the sexual attraction wasn't that strong. Dated a Leo for 5 and
short from almost killing each other it was and still is the BEST sex I
ever had in my life (like primitive and passionate) Would definately
recommend trying out a Leo in bed if you Aries havent done it yet! And
lastly was a Scorpio - really was surprised by the "not a good
match" because I really felt like he was my universal soul mate but
was too possesive and wouldn't let me thrive outside the home! IDK - i
think it really think there is a lot more than just signs weighing in on

As an aries woman, to all aries women reading this, I feel compelled to
tell you to never never never date a capricorn man. You will feel like you
have just slept with the devil and that you are in hell. STAY AWAY FROM
CAPRICORN MEN. Cancers suck too by the way, but if you can at least avoid
these two matches, you could probably make out okay with adjustments.
